What Have We Been Up To?

EVERYTHING!!! I don't know if my life has ever been this busy. I thought things would slow down when Kaden went back to school but I was wrong. There have been days where I have not been able to sit down all day. I have to admit though that I am loving every second of it!
I have recently joined a Mother Goose preschool group for Kaylee. There are four other kids in it from our ward. We all take turns teaching two days a week. The kids are all so adorable and well behaved. Kaylee LOVES being a part of this group. It is all she has been talking about ever since we started it. This week I taught. The first day we learned about the earth. We made an earth dancer craft and decorated sugar cookies with green and blue frosting to look like the earth. The second lessons theme was biodegradable. We made noodle sculptures and created our own biodegradable sidewalk paint. Here are a few pictures. See how cute the kids are!

Kaden has started soccer. He has a friend from his primary class on his team. He looks forward to his practices. He will have his first game next Saturday. It has been a fun experience for us to spend evenings together as a family cheering him on.
Here are a few pictures of our soccer player.

Over Labor Day weekend we were lucky enough to have Geoff's brother Chris come stay with us. He is currently living only about an hour away from us at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds here in Maryland. We took him into DC to see a few of the Smithsonian's, the Declaration of Independence at the National Archives, and took the metro over to China Town for lunch. We found a great restaurant in China Town. We all agreed it was the best Chinese food we have had in America. I have actually never had Chinese food outside of America but Geoff and Chris have both lived in Taiwan. While we were eating our lunch a homeless man came into the restaurant and asked us if he could have some of our food. He went around from table to table begging for food. How sad is that! The owner told him he would take care of him if he would agree to leave the customers alone and leave. China Town is definitely a place I would never go alone. The food was amazing though and we had fun looking through some of the shops. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

We were also able to stop by the Tax Court and see Geoff's office. We were all quite impressed. He has a big window, a nice office, and the kids especially loved finding his candy drawer.:) The picture of Kaden sitting on the couch is actually in the Judge's office. The secretary was kind enough to let us go in and check it out.

On Monday we drove down to Annapolis. We LOVE Annapolis. Geoff could sit and watch the boats all day. This time we were able to browse through some of the gift shops and tour the grounds of the Naval Academy. It is such a beautiful place! Here are a few pictures from our visit.

Here are a few more pictures from the Naval Academy

Now you are all caught up! See I told you we have been busy.

I am tired just reading about all you're doing. But what great memories (and fun pictures) for your family. We're glad you're here in Maryland!

Whew, what a week. Looks like you are totally taking advantage of all the amazing things and places around Maryland. How nice for Chris to be able to come and see you. I am sure that made him feel great. Geoff's office looks really nice, I hope he is liking his job. Is it just for one year or for as long as you want? I hope Kaden's soccer team is better than Luke's was. Oh well, at least they have fun.

Olivia,
Geoff has a two year clerkship so we should just be here for the two years. Kaden's soccer team has some really good players. Kaden might be one of the least athletic on his team. Even some of the girls are better then him. :) He is having fun though and that's all that matters.

FUN, FUN, FUN! Your outings looks so entertaining! I wish I would have gone to visit Cory when they lived in Maryland. It seems like such a cool area. Now I will just have to come see you there instead. Way to go on teaching preschool. That is such a good way to do it. I bet your lessons are always darling!

Hey what fun stuff you're doing! Though remember I'm only 5 MINUTES AWAY from D.C. so you really need to let me know next time you're in the area so I can meet up with you!!! Also want to have you to dinner real soon.
