The Maryland Renaissance Festival

Last weekend we went to the Maryland Renaissance Festival with our good friends the Browns. I had read reviews online and thought it sounded fun. I was amazed to see how much work they put into this festival. We saw a jousting show, a man walk on a tight rope, a man swollow a sword, and all kinds of performers. This year they recreated the year of 1541. We met King Henry and his wife Katherine Howard, his fifth queen. The kids attended a pirate and princess party. They sang songs, listened to story tellers, marched in a parade, and got cupcakes. Kaden went down a big slide on a mat. The kids played in the kids play area and went through a maze. The maze was the highlight of their visit. It took them about a half hour to figure out how to get out of the maze. They also offered pony and elephant rides. The festival was in a beautiful wooded setting. It was a fun experience.

You always do such a good job of finding things in your area that are going to be great fun! I should really take more time to find out what is going on here.
