Mrs. Fields Cookie Tour

Earlier this week the kids had a day off of school.  We took a tour of the Mrs. Fields Cookie Factory.  The kids were impressed with the big ovens and huge freezer.  The tour took us through the bakery, assembly area, and shipping deck.  The dough is made in California and then is shipped to SLC to be baked, packaged and shipped out.  They deliver as many as 35,000 packages in a single day.  At the end of the tour we each got a free cookie.

2011 Jordan World Circus

We found out about a circus that was in town and decided that we had to go.  This was both Kaden and Kaylee's first time going to a circus.

We watched six tigers perform.  My favorite act was when they jumped through a hoop that was lit on fire.

The kids both enjoyed a snow cone.

 This was Kaylee's favorite act. 

 The elephants were fun to watch. 

 This act was really good.  Once he got this going around in circles he climbed up on top and started to jump rope while it was going around and then ran on it blindfolded. 

 This act was also very impressive.  He stacked these chairs and then did a handstand on the very top.

The bears were also fun to watch. This one was pushing a girl across the stage.  The other bear balanced on a toy and rocked on a rocking horse.

After it was over the kids couldn't stop talking about it.  Hopefully it will be a memory they will never forget.  Thanks for going with us Grandma!!

Christmas

About a week before Christmas my mom had a Polar Express party & sleepover for the grandkids. We took them on a drive through the Thanksgiving Point Christmas lights and then we made Christmas crafts, watched the Polar Express on the big screen and read bedtime stories to them. They loved sleeping by the Christmas tree.

My parents bought prime rib for our Christmas Eve dinner. It was delicious!!

The kids acted out Luke chapter 2.

Here are the grandkids in their Christmas Eve pajamas.

The kids were all glued to the computer screen. They loved seeing where Santa was delivering presents and got excited when he started to get closer to the United States.

In the morning we made a breakfast casserole and scones. It was all yummy!

Santa brought Kaden the nerf gun he asked for.

He brought Kaylee the Audrey-Ann doll she asked for.

The next day we celebrated Christmas with the Gunnerson side of the family. It was so much fun seeing all of our cute nieces and nephews again. We have really missed them! Here are the six brothers.

My sister-in-law Haylee did a great job hosting the dinner/party.

She made these cute sugar cookies for the kids. We loved spending the holidays with our extended families this year. It was also great having Geoff here with us.

Youngberg Girls' Candy Making Day

My mom hosted a candy making day for the girls on her side of the family. It has been more then four years since I have seen most of them. I loved catching up with all of them. We spent the day making taffy, fudge, divinity, and cashew brickle.

The kids all had fun pulling and wrapping the taffy. Kaden made the taffy with Grandma's help. He did a great job, it turned out really good!

We made two batches of fudge.

The girls loved eating the leftover fudge in the pan.

Tami and I are only a few months apart. It was fun catching up with her. I didn't get pictures of my sister-in-laws Nickole and Kamisha. Hopefully my mom got some.

Conference Center and Temple Square

Last weekend we met up with my Dad's side of the family for brunch and then headed downtown to take a tour of the Conference Center and see the Temple Square Christmas lights. Here are the kids with my cute niece, Brooklyn in front of the Conference Center.

This was in the auditorium. It seats 21,000 people.

We saw the Book of Mormon paintings. This was Kaden's favorite part of the tour.

This was taken on the roof top. You can see the reflection of the temple in the background. If you can't tell, the granddaughters all LOVE their Grandma.

After our tour we walked across the street to see the Temple Square lights. (If you click on this picture to enlarge it you will notice Kaden and Kaylee have the same fake smile)

It was a fun evening. The only thing that could have made it better is if Geoff could have been there with us. We LOVE and MISS you Geoff!!!

2010 Festival of Trees

We went to the Festival of Trees with my Mom. It has really grown since the last time I went. Now they have a craft boutique, a gingerbread house section, a kids section, and a display section. It was a lot of fun. Here are pictures of some of our favorite trees.
