Kaden has been talking about making me a birthday cake for months. He asked my mom to buy him a chocolate cake mix. He said he thought he should start out with a mix since it was going to be his first cake. He was so excited when the time came to finally make it.

He did everything himself except for putting the cake in the oven and taking it out. While he was cracking the eggs he said, "I have been waiting my whole life to do this!" I am going to have to let him help crack eggs more often. :)

Here is the finished cake. He frosted and decorated it himself too. It was delicious and by far the best birthday cake I have ever had.

The kids have also been planning a snowflake party for me ever since I put together Kaden's Lego birthday party. My mom ended up doing A LOT of the work to help them make it the way they wanted it to be. They hung snowflakes from the kitchen ceiling.

Kaden came up with the idea to make snowflake paper airplanes and hang them from the ceiling fan. It was fun to watch them fly around when the fan was turned on.

They made me this cute Happy Birthday banner. Kaylee wanted us to watch
Frosty the Snowman because Frosty says Happy Birthday in the movie. We ran out of time but I thought it was a cute idea.

The kids also went to the the store with my parents and picked out some presents for me. They gave me a new curling iron, lotion, and some hair conditioner. I loved their gifts.

My mom made me my favorite dinner and then we decorated gingerbread houses.

The kids ate a lot of the frosting and candies. They were all wired by the end of the night but they had a lot of fun.

Here is a picture of the finished gingerbread houses. They all did a great job! The only thing that could have made the day better is if Geoff could have been here. We miss him so much and are looking forward to seeing him in three days!

What a wonderful party! Your kids are so, so sweet and thoughtful. (As is your mom for helping them do all that.) My favorite part was Kaden saying he'd waited his whole life to make the cake. SOOO CUTE!
You are 34 years young too. I will be in another week. I didn't know we were so close in age. What a great gift from Kaden, how sweet. Happy Days! - Lisa

At first, I thought Kaden was making a birthday cake for himself and I thought to myself "When did he turn 34? He ages really well" ha ha ha. What a great kid. I swear, you have the coolest family. I hope you had a truly great birthday. You are missed here.
