Last Saturday I took the kids to Watkins Regional Park. It is about a 25 minute drive from our house. It has a huge playground, a miniature train ride through the woods, an outdoor carousel, a nature center, hiking trails, and a farm area. This is only part of the playground. They also have swings, a tire swing, teeter-totters, and two other play sets. In my opinion this is the best park ever!

Here is another play set in the same area.

Every time we visit this park we take a train ride through the woods. This time we saw a deer and her baby in the woods.

Here is a view of the woods from our train ride.

Kaylee loves to ride the carousel.

Kaden loves this tree. Every time we visit this park he asks me to take his picture in it.

Here is Kaden on the path to the Old Maryland Farm. It is located behind the carousel and train rides. I love how you have to follow the wooded path to get to it.

This is in the Maryland Farm area. It is so beautiful this time of the year. I couldn't get the kids to stand in the center for a picture because there was a rooster on the loose and they were scared it was going to come around the corner and get them. :)

I couldn't believe how tall these sunflowers were.

These pictures don't do the garden area justice. It was beautiful.

The farm had bulls, a pony, sheep, a pig, peacocks, ducks, turkeys, llamas, a cow, chickens, and some roosters.

This was the first time we went on one of their hiking trails. It was such a beautiful hike. I can't wait to go back and try out some of their other trails.

Here are a few things we found on our hike.

The nature center is a short walk from the playground. We spent a lot of time in here this visit.

Kaylee wanted these puzzle pieces to go together the right way and Kaden thought it was funny to mismatch them. They usually get along really well but they are opposites when it comes to things like this. Kaden is more creative and silly and Kaylee likes things to be done the proper way.

Kaylee loved putting on a puppet show for us.

There were lots of frogs on lily pads outside of the nature center. The kids loved seeing how many they could find.

I was excited to find a butterfly garden in the back of the nature center. It seems like every time I go to this park it just gets better and better. Here are a few of my favorite shots of some of the butterflies.

It was a perfect day. I can't wait to go back with our friends in a few weeks for our back to school party. I can however wait for the kids to go back to school. We have had a great summer and I am sad it is getting close to the end.

Great pictures. I love the one of the two of the standing and holding hands. Also love the beautiful nature shots you got. Your kids have had such a wonderful summer thanks to you!
Jadi you take BEAUTIFUL pictures - you should do it professionally. The kiddos are getting so big - we miss you guys! What a fun place to go! Love you!
What an AMAZING park! All of that in one place. I think it would take days to see it all. I am also sad that summer is coming to an end. I love the carefree days of no schedule (well except now I have a work schedule!) and fun, fun, fun activities.
Not a lot of people on the train...but that park looks freaking amazing...we doubt it compares to the park we had at our apartment in Laramie, but, it still looks cool nonetheless. We are also jealous that you get to live close to so many cool museums.
I don't think the word "park" does that place justice! You guys have such amazing places back east to visit and see! I'd almost be jealous, but I hate traffic and huge populations of people and humidity. LOL!
Anyway, beautiful pictures and memories for your family!
Holy cow... Your adventures never end!! I love how cute your kids are together! The park looks beautiful.
That park is incredible! My kids would love it!
