A few days ago we had some errands to run. When we went into the grocery store it was sunny, hot and humid outside. When we came out it was pouring rain. We waited for a few minutes and then realized it wasn't going to slow down anytime soon. We were parked at the back of the parking lot so by the time we got to our car we were all soaked.

Since we were already wet I told the kids they could play in the rain when we got home. They were both excited about it and had a lot of fun. They spent at least 20 minutes running around dancing and splashing in puddles. It made me remember that the spontaneous moments in life can be the most fun.

After changing out of their wet clothes the kids cuddled with up their pillows and blankets to watch a movie with some hot cocoa and cookies.

I agree-those spontaneous moments are the most magical. And what a good mom for letting them do that!
It sure can rain back there!! Although, hot cocoa in June?? We would thing Rita's would be more appropriate.
Absolutely love it! But I had to laugh at the hot chocolate. Evelyn and Lily requested hot chocolate for their "special treat" yesterday. I thought they were crazy with how hot it was. However, it sounds perfect for after playing in the rain!
Brings back fun memories! Cool, refreshing rain does sound wonderful right now.
