A Weekend of Shopping and Festivities

We had a very busy but fun holiday weekend. Our friends were kind enough to let our kids sleep over on Thanksgiving so that Geoff and I could wake up at 3:30 am and hit the Black Friday sales. We arrived at Kohl's at 4:00 am. We had to wait in line for a hour to check out. We did get some great deals though so it was worth it. Then we headed over to Walmart. We were able to get everything on our list but it was packed with people. We couldn't even get our cart down the isles so we had to take turns standing by the cart while the other person went looking. After that we stopped by Target, Kmart, and Tuesday Morning. We had fun. Thanks for watching our kids Esther!!!
After we got home from our shopping trip we took naps and then headed off to the National Zoo in DC to see the Zoo lights. The weather was nice and we all had a great time. Here are a few pictures from the zoo.

Saturday morning we took off to the mall, Michaels, Circuit City, and Costco to do some some more shopping. This time we had to take the kids. They aren't into shopping as much as we are so it wasn't as fun as the day before. However, we did get some more good deals so it was worth it. We dropped our bags off at home and headed off to see Santa and go on a horse and carriage ride. Kaylee was so excited to see Santa this year. She asked me to do her hair in a flower braid so she would look pretty when she saw Santa. All day she kept asking us if her hair still looked pretty. She was worried it was going to get messed up before she saw Santa. Both of the kids were all lit up after telling Santa what they wanted for Christmas this year. Kaylee asked for a barbie house with two barbies (at Costco) and Kaden asked for a computer game called Jump Start World third grade. After seeing Santa we went on a horse and carriage ride. At the end of the ride Santa helped everyone down from the carriage. The kids thought that was exciting.

Kaylee also started eating her candy and got it all over her face.

What a fun and busy weekend you guys had! I can't believe you guys were brave enough to get up that early and face Black Friday shopping!!! I have never had the courage to do that--I bet you got some great deals. And your Thanksgiving kids' table turned out SO cute. You are so talented!!!

Kaylee's braid is amazing. Her hair must be super long to do that. So cute and your family looks like they had a great weekend.

Wow! I'll have to take lessons from you for next year. I went out at 9:00 am and all "my" deals were gone.... Oh well. I guess I can try today (Cyber Monday). ;)

Yeah for shopping! I went on Thursday and Friday mornings. My friend told me that the outlets open at 12:00 am on Thanksgiving night, and I think next year I might give it a try!!! I can never shop too much. I love Kaylee's braid, and I love that she wanted her hair to be so special to see Santa. Your table arrangements look beautiful. I am sure that you did a wonderful job on the whole Thanksgiving dinner.
