Can you believe Kaden is already in first grade? He is growing up way too fast! Last night Kaden was wired. He was running around our living room couch in circles. This is unusual for Kaden. He is usually a very calm child. Geoff gave him a father's blessing for comfort last night and it must have helped because Kaden woke up calm and happy this morning. Kaylee and I walked him into school this morning. On the way out I was trying to hold back my tears when Kaylee turned to me and said, "I am so excited that Kaden is finally back in school!" It is not because she doesn't like Kaden she just loves having my attention all to herself. When we went back to pick him up after school there were people everywhere. It was a little bit crazy. We finally found Kaden and he informed us that his first day was great!
This year has already started out a lot better then last year. Last year we moved to Gainesville a week before Kaden started school. I didn't know who to list on the emergency contact form because I didn't know any body yet. We only had one vehicle and Geoff had to take it to school so Kaden had to ride the bus. The bus was suppose to come at 6:40 am (while it was still dark outside) but sometimes it came a few minutes early or was up to a half hour late. On the first day of school Kaden got off of the bus wearing his "extra pair of clothes" that we were instructed to leave with the teacher. We discovered it was because some kids made him laugh so hard at recess that it made him pee his pants. He also came home three other times over the next few weeks wearing misc. shirts from the nurses office because he was getting bloody noses. He was also assigned to a portable classroom in the back of the school. It took him two weeks to figure out how to find his class. It was like going through a maze. I got lost trying to find it my first few times as well. He did end up surviving and loving kindergarten in the end. We also ended up getting a second vehicle so I was able to drive him to and from school. However, I did have to get on the freeway and it took me 25-30 every morning and afternoon to go get him. Now we live two minutes away from the school which I am loving!

Oh, I am so glad that this first day went better than last year! Kaden looks so big. Isn't it crazy that we have kids that are old enough to be in school all day. Although I miss Luke during the day, it has been really nice to have some alone time with Noah. Elijah is such a good little guy that I can really focus on Noah and enjoy him a little more than I have before. I am sure that Kaylee enjoys you all to herself. One last year alone with you. Next year you will be alone with yourself...can you believe it?
Looks like things are wonderful!! I am glad that things have calmed down this year and hopefully all will go well in the months to come.
I felt so bad for Kaden while reading that! I am happy that he likes 1st grade so far, and that you live close to the school too. I love being able to take my kids to school, instead of them having to take the bus. I can't believe he is getting so big!
