Our fun Visit with Uncle Darin and Aunt Haylee!
We had so much fun with Geoff's brother Darin and his wife Haylee. They stayed with us for four days last week before their Disney World trip.
On the first day of their visit, Geoff and Darin went golfing. Meanwhile, Kaylee and I took Haylee to the Butterfly Rain Forrest. Butterflies landed on Haylee and Kaylee. Later, we picked Kaden up from school and took Haylee to visit Dudley farm. At the farm we were able to wash and ring out clothes, grind corn for the chickens, and hold fresh warm chicken eggs. We also saw turkeys, horses, and cows.
On the second day, Kaylee and I took Darin and Haylee to go see some alligators while Geoff and Kaden were at school. We walked four miles and saw more than 60 alligators. Many of them were within five to ten feet of the walking path we were on. It was quite an adventure. Later that afternoon, we drove to Cedar Key. We had an Easter egg hunt on the beach for the kids and played in the Gulf of Mexico. That evening, we ate at Frog's Landing, a local fresh seafood restaurant, and watched the sunset.
On the third day, we woke up and colored Easter eggs. Midmorning, we decided to hop in the car and go to St. Augustine. We walked down St. George Street, an 11 block pedestrian mall, and ate at Pizza Alley's for lunch. After lunch, we had to stop and get a giant cookie from our favorite bakery the Bunnery. Everything they make is delicious! Once we reached the end of St. George street, we headed over to see the old Spanish fort, Castillo de San Marcos. While touring the grounds around the fort, we were fortunate to see and hear a demonstration of the firing of some of the old Spanish cannons. Then we drove to Crescent Beach. It wasn't the warmest day for the beach but it was warm enough to have fun. Geoff, Darin and Haylee went body surfing while Kaden, Kaylee and I collected sea shells and played on the beach.
The last day they were here was Easter Sunday. That evening we had Easter dinner. After dinner, Geoff drove them to Disney World. We were all sad to see them leave, Kaylee even cried! We loved having them here with us. I especially loved getting to know Haylee better. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met. She is always saying how lucky she is to be married to Darin. I think Darin is lucky to be married to her!

Luke really wanted to "post" on someone's blog, so I hope you don't mind his little comments! It does look like you had a lot of fun, and I wish I could have been there too! Are you guys staying in Florida for the summer or are you heading to Washington D.C. If I weren't so pregnant, we could consider a fun trip to see you guys!
That is saying a lot about Haylee being the sweetest person you know since you are the sweetest person in the world. Looks like you had so much fun. I would love to go the butterfly rainforest.
You guys do the coolest stuff. An easter egg hunt on the beach, I don't think it could get much better. We hope Geoff is surviving.
