April Fool's Day, Kaden's Class Field Trip, and a Family Picnic at the Farm

This year, I thought it would be fun to pull some pranks on the kids for April Fool's Day. Geoff and I switched the kids into each others beds after they fell asleep the night before. Kaylee woke up at 3:30 a.m. and came into our room to ask us why she was sleeping in Kaden's bed. In the morning I gave Kaden his cereal with blue milk. My last prank was the best one of all. I pretended like I was serving them a plate full of candy for dinner. Their eyes got huge and they started to giggle with excitement when they saw their dinners. I quickly said, "April Fool's," and took the plates away. They did get to pick one piece of candy for dessert. They thought my pranks were funny and kept trying to think of pranks to play on each other. Kaylee kept calling it "Apple Fool's Day."

Kaylee and I always love to help out in Kaden's kindergarten class. So far we have been able to go on all of their class field trips. This time we got to go see "Beauty and the Beast" at the UF Performing Arts Center. Kaden's teacher was able to take one free chaperone and she invited me. She always makes Kaylee feel special. We love her! The show didn't compare to Disney World's Beauty and the Beast show but it was still fun to watch. After the show we had a picnic at the park. Kaylee's favorite part of the field trip was getting to ride on the school bus.:) I also took a picture of Kaden's "girlfriend." Her name is Kourtney. A few weeks ago we were walking into a store and Kaden said, "Can you believe I am only six years old and I already have a girlfriend." I asked him if Kourtney knew she was his girlfriend and he replied, "Believe me she knows."

Last weekend we went on a family picnic to the Morning Side Nature Center Living Farm. We had the whole place to ourselves. We saw pigs, chickens, roosters, sheep and a cow. I love this farm because it is a beautiful place and it is free.

What fun you guys always have. Luke kept trying to come up with funny "April fool's" things and I just had to laugh at his attempts. I love that Kaden has a girlfriend. Luke asked me the other day how you get a girlfriend, and I asked him if there was a girl in his classes he like. He said, "no, there are three!" Oh, the mind of a 6 year old.
