Today I hosted a Teddy Bear Picnic & Fun Run at our Community Park. I asked each child to bring a teddy bear or stuffed animal and a picnic lunch. I started out by having the kids participate in a Fun Run around the duck pond.

They each got a medal and a lollipop for participating. Kaylee was the fourth one to finish. Kaden came in last place behind two toddlers. He said he got tired half way around and stopped to rest on a bench. What a lazy kid!

We had a Teddy Bear Treasure Hunt. Before everyone arrived I hid teddy bear paw shapes around the park. I gave them the first clue and then they had to follow the clues to find their prize bags.

Here is Kaylee checking out her prize bag. They each got a bag of animal cookies, a juice box, and a rocket balloon.

I took this picture of the bags the night before.

I had the kids each stand up and show the teddy bear or stuffed animal that they brought and tell us something about it. Kaylee said she got her bear in China. It was really a present from Santa Clause a few years ago but the tag on it says made in China. :)

Kaylee brought Cheer Bear, the biggest bear she could find. :)

Kaden brought the bear he made at the Boyd's Bear Country Store. He named it Boyds, don't you wonder how he came up with that name? He actually put a lot of thought into it. I guess it just made sense. :)

I also brought bubbles and assorted bubble wands for the kids to play with, and bread to feed the ducks. It was another hot day but I think the kids all had a lot of fun.

I thought Kaden was just being thoughtful and watching after the toddlers. ;) Thanks for hosting such a fun activity! The girls couldn't stop talking about it.
What a great idea. It looks like you had an awesome turn out too!!
Looks like so much fun! Sorry we missed it.
Wow, what a good idea. A fun way to get the kids movin in the summer. Jadi, you never cease to go the extra mile and I love that about you. Fun. Fun.
Wow...that is very impressive. Adam says he would have probably been hanging with Kaden in the race. Looks like a great idea.
So creative! I'm sure the kids were talking about it at dinner with their parents. Gotta love good, old fashioned fun. Your boy cracks me up with his rest stop!
What a fun idea! I am totally laughing about Kaden. I guess I don't know him well enough because I never would've guess he would do that. Oh and by the way, ketchup on pizza? Gross!
