Yesterday we took Kaylee into DC for the Smithsonian Kite Festival.
Kaden stayed behind for a birthday party. People were flying kites in front of the Capitol, Washington Monument, and all across the mall.

This area is near the Washington Monument.

The cherry trees were in bloom and they looked beautiful!

Here is a close up of some cherry tree blossoms.

Two of the cutest people in the world.

Just in case you haven't been informed. :)

We stopped by the National Building Museum. They were having a family fun day to kick off the start of the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Kaylee loved watching these Japanese dancers.

Kaylee got to try on a Japanese Kimono.

She also got to take home a flower, make a tissue flower, and color a picture.

After visiting the National Building Museum we headed over to China Town to look through some souvenir shops and find a place for lunch. We ended up eating around the corner at a place called Peri Peri. It was really good!

If you ever get a chance to go to the kite festival you should. It was a really fun experience!

I'm so glad you were able to go to the kite festival!!! And it looks like it turned out being nice enough weather for it too!
It doesn't look as hot as when we went to Mt. Vernon. We bet it was a great time. Makes us miss you guys even more, and miss DC.
Jadi, you guys live a pretty great life. I'm super jealous. And I love the cherry trees! Reminds me of Grandpa and Grandma's house.
Ahh how much fun that looks! Makes me miss you guys and D.C. and how fun for Kaylee to be the one and only. She probably ate that up.
I wish we could have joined you guys!! We LOVE going to the kite festival and the weather looked MUCH better this year.
Now that looks like fun! Randy would be super jealous to read this post seeing how he just LOVES kites. And those are some pretty nice pictures. Just makes me wish I could have been there myself! You guys are by far the fun family!
