Utah Vacation

Both Kaden and Kaylee were so excited to go to Utah to play on my parent's banzai water slide. They had both been talking about it for weeks before our trip. Our plane got into Utah late in the evening but my parents were kind enough to put up the banzai slide first thing the next morning. Both of the kids were in heaven. The next day our niece and nephew joined us for another swimming party and BBQ. My favorite part was sitting under the gazebo and talking to my mom.

My older brother reserved tickets for everyone in my family to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house. We met at my younger brother Kris' house. He lives just a few minutes from the new temple. It was so much fun to see his new house. They had a nice park across the street so we had a picnic dinner and then went over to the open house from there. It was a great experience.

We spent one day in Park City. We went on the Alpine slide and all loved it! We also had lunch at a cute outdoor cafe. The kids got to play on a bunch of inflatable bounce slides and toys which they loved and then cooled off with some snow cones. On the way home we stopped through Heber and got some milkshakes. It was a fun day!

We spent the 3rd and 4th of July up at Geoff's family cabin. It was so much fun to see everyone. It has been two years since we were last all together. I also finally got to see three of my nephews in person for the first time and they were all ADORABLE! Even cuter then their pictures. We met up at the Kamas Aquatic and Rec Center. Everyone went swimming, played racquetball, climbed the rock wall and enjoyed a delicious dinner on the patio. After the rec center we spent the night up at the cabin. In the morning we all drove down to the Oakley parade. It was a lot of fun!

My mom is a lot of fun. She planned a fun night for the grand kids. She took them swimming, then we roasted marshmallows in their backyard, watched a movie on the wall with their projector and then slept outside in tents. In the morning my dad made us pancakes. The kids loved it and are still talking about it.

On the last day of our visit my parents took us to the Thanksgiving Point Dinosaur Museum. They were celebrating their 9th birthday so the kids were able to get dinosaurs painted on their faces, play games for prizes, and go on a scavenger hunt through the museum. My camera's battery died so I missed out on a lot of great pictures. This is a great museum. I would highly recommend it to anyone with kids!

We were finally able to get a family picture with everyone in it! This hasn't happen for years. It was so much fun having everyone together again.

I just love this picture of my parents. They are both amazing people and I am so thankful to have them as my parents.

One evening Kaylee got to help pick strawberries from my parents garden for a dessert my mom made. Kaylee loved it! The dessert was yummy too. :)

We had a great time in Utah. It couldn't have been any more fun. I didn't get pictures of everything but we also went to Lagoon one day, spent a day with Geoff's parents, and my mom had a Girl's night out sleep over for all of my aunts and cousins on her side of the family. We didn't have time to visit with any of our friends and were disappointed about that. Next time we will have to stay longer. We were sad to leave but happy to see all of our GOOD friends again here in Maryland.

We loved seeing you guys again. I can't believe that it had really been 2 years. Thanks so much for making the effort to come to Utah and spend some time with us. We had such a good time with you guys. I love my kids playing with their cousins. It is heaven for me. I love all the pictures. It looks like you had SUCH a great time. My favorite is the one of the kids sleeping at the cabin. The boys looks SOOOOOO uncomfortable. Thanks again, let's make sure it isn't 2 years until we see you again!

Talk about coincidence, I just took the kids to the same temple open house last week while we were there for our family reunion in Heber. So close! One of these days we'll have to visit when you're in Utah. Hope you're having a good summer.
