A Fancy Nancy Party

If you have never read the Fancy Nancy books then you are missing out! They are adorable. All of the little girls in our preschool group remind me of Fancy Nancy. I thought it would be fun to have a Fancy Nancy party for them. I attached tiaras to the invitations so the girls could wear them to the party. I started the party by reading them the original Fancy Nancy book. Then I gave them all some accessories to help transform a plain mom into a fancy mom. My friend Jody did a great job playing the part. Thanks again Jody! Then I gave them each a cookie to practice eating with their pinkies out. After that I let them choose some glasses, rings and necklaces to make them even fancier. My friend Ana brought some cute butterfly hair clips to give to the girls. Thanks again Ana! They modeled their new accessories on a stage while all of the moms took pictures of them. After that I gave them stickers and crayons to turn plain bags into fancy bags to take their new accessories home in. We ended the party by having parfaits which is the fancy word for ice cream sundaes. I had so much fun planning and hosting this party.

I haven't ever read those books, go figure! It sure looks like you had a wonderful time. I seem to be all about construction trucks, karate, and dinosaurs. Oh, someday I may be able to have a Fancy Nancy party. Then I will have to turn to your for some party tips.

Yea! I've been excited ever since the party happened to see pictures. That Jody sure was glamorous alright. Looks like you did a great job with the party, Jadi. Maybe I'll throw a party for the boys where they dig in dirt, throw mulch, and scare eachother silly. Sounds about right.

Thanks Jadi! Kai had an exquisite time. The best is that she now eats all of her biscuits with her pinkie in the air. Ha ha ha!
