(We ended up getting to the ceremony of the changing of the guard late. Apparently they announce that you must remain standing for the ceremony. I didn't hear that and bent down to get a picture. One of the soldiers yelled at me to stand up out of respect for the ceremony. So in case any of you ever attend one of the ceremonies and get there late remember to remain standing!)

How much of DC can you see in one day?
We actually ended up seeing quite a lot for only having one day to spend in DC. You could probably spend at least a week or two seeing everything in DC. We saw the Lincoln, Jefferson, Washington, FDR, and World War II memorials. We had a picnic lunch outside of the Lincoln memorial, we saw Iwo Jima, walked through Arlington Cemetery. (The cemetery is huge and you have to walk uphill quite a ways. I think it killed us all out on top of all of the other walking we did) We also saw the White House and Capitol. Next time they come we will have to take them to all of the Smithsonian's.

Jadi, I loved your new blog. It is fun to see what we did while with you. I have so many pictures from that trip that it will take me forever to scrapbook them. Mama Dew
