Have you ever had a week like this?

Last Tuesday I somehow ran over a curb and blew out one of the tires on our Camry. I had to sit and wait with the kids for a hour until AAA could come out and put the spare on. That same day I found out that the vision center that was suppose to have ordered my new contacts had not ordered them. I also found out that the refund check we were suppose to get from our apartment in Florida had not yet been mailed. I had been checking the mail everyday for this check. (By the way it is a week later and I still haven't received my new contacts or refund check)
I also had to take our vehicles in for inspections so that we could register them. The Camry passed just fine. The next day I took the Jeep in. The Jeep had several things that needed to be fixed in order for it to pass the inspection. In the end it ended up costing us $700 to have everything repaired instead of the $70 that we had planned on paying for the inspection. This same day while we were waiting in line at the MVA to get Geoff's new drivers license we realized that somehow Geoff's birth certificate had blown out of my hand while we were walking into the building. While I was outside searching the parking lot for his birth certificate I wondered if I was just having a bad dream. Fortunately I was able to find his birth certificate right before it was about to blow across a busy road.
On Friday our computer stopped working. It was working just fine and then all of the sudden it just turned off and wouldn't turn back on. Geoff is still working on trying to fix it so in the meantime I am having to use his laptop and can't download or post pictures.
Then on Sunday we were grilling steaks for Geoff's birthday and the grill ran out of gas in the middle of cooking the steaks. We decided the only option was to try to finish cooking them in the oven. Somehow the heat from the oven set the smoke detectors off. At this point I just had to laugh.
I have to admit I have had better weeks but there were a few blessings that made last week worthwhile. On the night I blew out the tire on our Camry my brother called to see how I was and tell me he loved me. I also had some good friends call me to see if I was doing OK. When I was waiting for AAA to come a nice man stopped to see if I needed any help. When I was feeling frazzled and just wanted to get home a nice lady offered to let me go in front of her in line at the store. It made me realize how lucky I was to have so many good friends and relatives. It also made me realize how thankful I am for the wonderful community that I live in. The people here are so kind.
We did have some good things happen last week as well. Geoff and Kaden were able to go to an Oriole's game in Baltimore. Kaden loved it. Geoff's brother Chris was also able to come stay with us last weekend. We went out for a nice dinner to celebrate Geoff's birthday Saturday night with Chris. We also had Geoff's cousin Merredith and her family over for dinner Sunday. I will post some pictures as soon as we can get our computer working again.
So far this week has started out a lot better! I hope you are all having a nice week as well.

Wow, what a week! At least you were able to notice the good things that happened too. That always helps. I am happy to hear things are going better this week. Good luck with the whole computer thing. :)

You are such a sweet person--to be able to write about the good things that happened after all that!

I'm still shocked you were able to find the birth certificate! I hope you never have a week to compare to that one. Way to stay positive!

I know you had a tough week but you do have a really good attitude and I hope that you will call me anytime you need anything.

What a week! I can't believe you were able to find the birth certificate. That stinks about the tire too. I'm always worried that something like that will happen to me when I'm alone with the kids.

I'm sorry to say that I was laughing as I read all about your week. I know I shouldn't laugh at your expense, but it was pretty funny. I am glad that you were able to find some humor, and look for the blessings. I hope things go a little better from now on!

Wow! I'm sorry you had such a bad week but how great that you pulled some of the nice things out of the week as well. I might have just dwelled on everything that went wrong and bad. Anyway, thanks for the good example and great attitude, love ya!!
