Christmas Eve

We started our day by going to the Cracker Barrel for brunch with our good friends, the Browns.  Later that afternoon they came over for dinner.  Here is the kids table.  It was suppose to have a red tablecloth and white napkins but I couldn't find a red tablecloth right before Christmas, they were all sold out. :(
Here are the cute kids!
Same thing with the adult table.  I couldn't find the kind of tablecloth I wanted.  I am going to have to plan ahead in the future.
At least the food turned out well.  The Browns brought a delicious turkey.  We also had mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, a green salad, a fruit salad, fresh pineapple and vegetables.
After dinner the kids decorated sugar cookies....
Here are Kaylee's decorated cookies.

Kaden started eating his cookies before I could get a picture of them. :)
After dinner the kids opened their Christmas Eve pajamas.  This is always the highlight of Christmas Eve for the kids.

Here they are in their new pajamas.

Geoff read from the bible while the kids acted out the nativity.  Here they are posing after their performance. :)
We ended the evening by having Shad read the kids The Night Before Christmas.  It was a fun evening and we were thankful to have the Browns share it with us.

We had a nice Christmas Eve.  The only downside was that while we were out having Brunch our neighbors were hosting a Christmas Eve breakfast at their house.  Some of the kids went out in their backyard and tossed dirt clods, iron rods, bricks, wood, and trash over the fence into our swimming pool.  Our neighbors were kind enough to come over in their wet suits and help us clean it up.  We are hoping there is not any damage to the bottom of the pool but we haven't been able to take a close look yet.

what?!?!? That's crazy about your pool. Thank goodness your neighbors came to help clean it up. It sounds like you had a great Christmas celebration.

What a great beginning to Christmas. When you are away from family, it sure is nice to have good friends to be with. I'm so glad you have them close by. Merry Christmas!
