Kaylee was blessed with some amazing teachers for kindergarten and first grade. It was obvious they loved children and teaching. Kaylee has always loved school until this year. This year she ended up getting a strict teacher that yells a lot. There was another little girl in Kaylee's class who was also named Kaylee. The other Kaylee was always getting into trouble. Every time the the teacher yelled at the other Kaylee our Kaylee thought she was getting in trouble. Every night since the beginning of school Kaylee would get stomach aches and cry. Every morning as she was leaving for school she would tell me to pray for the day to go by fast. A few times I had to push her onto the bus or out of the front door to get her to go to school. At first we thought the stomach aches were being caused by a medical condition. I kept track of what foods she was eating, we tried gas medicine, and a few other things but nothing seemed to be helping her stomach aches. I was able to volunteer in her classroom one day. That is when it became obvious what the problem was. I tried to talk to the principle about changing teachers but he was unwilling to do anything about the problem. He said that Kaylee's teacher has the fewest number of students and that he didn't want to overwhelm his other teachers. I was very unimpressed with him to say the least. After careful consideration and a lot of praying we decided that it was in Kaylee's best interest to home school her for the rest of the school year. We have enrolled her in an online public school. She has a teacher that calls her every two weeks and holds a few live sessions online every week. I am her learning coach. The school pays for all of the supplies including a computer. Kaylee was so excited when the boxes arrived in the mail.
So far we have been loving our one on one time together and the best part is that Kaylee's stomach aches have stopped! :)

Oh my! What a nightmare :( Poor Kaylee, to be stuck with a scary teacher! I am so glad to hear that you are homeschooling her for the rest of the year. I bet you love the one on one time with her too, am I right? I love that you lined everything up on the couch to get a picture :) You guys are so cute! What a neat family you have, Jadi. I hope Kaylee gets a great teacher next year!
I'm so glad that Kaylee is excited about homeschooling. What a horrible experience! Thank goodness she is doing better and loving life again.
I've been thinking about your family recently and wondering what you decided to do about Kaylee's teacher. I'm so glad that you found something that works for your family. That's awesome Kaylee is enjoying homeschooling and it's even better her stomach aches are gone!!
