Holiday Fun

We had a fun Christmas Eve this year. After dinner the kids decorated sugar cookies for Santa and sprinkled magical reindeer food on the front lawn. They opened their Christmas Eve pajama's from their Grandpa and Grandma and their gifts to each other. Kaden read a book he made at school about how different countries celebrate Christmas and then Geoff read Luke chapter 2 from the Bible.

Geoff's cousin Meredith invited us over for a Christmas dinner. We all had a great time. Meredith is an amazing hostess! The food was delicious and the kids had fun making a Christmas craft. It was nice to be with family for Christmas. Thanks Meredith!

We stayed home for New Year's Eve because Kaylee was sick. It ended up being a fun relaxing evening. I made some New Year's Eve countdown bags for the kids to open each hour. I put craft projects, treats, glow sticks and noise makers in the bags. Each hour the kids got to open a new bag. We had pizza for dinner, watched Horton hears a who, and played several games including bingo and charades using glow in the dark sticks. It was a fun evening!

We hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year's too!!!

Looks like you guys had a great holiday week! I like how you took pictures of the kids' gifts all together like that. I'm glad you guys got some good at-home bonding time, just being able to relax and really enjoy being together.

Sounds like a great idea for New Years. I'll have to try the bag idea when my kids are older and actually stay up until midnight. Oh, and the temple pictures are beautiful!

Haylee,

The magic reindeer food is just oats mixed with red and green sprinkles. There is a cute poem that goes with it. I posted it on my homemaking blog.
