The other day I decided to take the kids to see if we could find some of the famous Florida alligators. After walking 1 1/2 to 2 miles down a beautiful tree lined path we arrived at the famous trail that lead to the alligators. We walked down the trail and came to a pond where we immediately were able to spot 3 alligators. After standing there for a few minutes and taking pictures of the alligators I suddenly realized there was an alligator about 10 feet from where we were standing. That was not a comforting feeling. I quickly grabbed the kids by their hands and took off walking fast. As soon as we were further away we took off running. I don't think we will be going back to see the alligators again. If we do then we will be more cautious next time! The picture with the weeds in front of the alligator is the one that was right by us.

Lol! How funny! I can just imagine you three running away from the alligators-- you realize, of course, that those gators stay close by because they get a steady diet of little kids. :)

Very daring. I don't think I would have been all up for that one but I tend to play things on the cautious side. Seems like you are truly getting your fill of FL before living. Good job.
You guys do the coolest stuff. The only real wildlife we see is road kill.
OH MAN!!! I THINK I WOULD HAVE STARTED TO CRY!! I have a real fear of alligators.. Reminds me of the trip to Alabama with Todd.. LOL!! Man was that a TRIP!
