St. Augustine vacation with Grandma

Outside of the St. Augustine Visitors Center

The old city gates

On the top of the Castillo San De Marcos Fort

At the Fountain of Youth park

We have now officially drank from the fountain of youth! It is sulfur water. Ponce De Leon thought it was sweet water because he was use to drinking polluted water or salt water. It was not very tasty.

There were 22 peacocks on the property.

This is the spot where Ponce De Leon first stepped onto the land. He was only 4'11. They said he wouldn't let anyone on his ship that was taller then him so the average sized man on his ship was 4'6.

It was a funny sight watching them get onto the tree but it ended up being worth the picture!

Historic St. Augustine in the evening.

This is an ice cream shop we ate at on St. George Street. St. George Street is a 11 block pedestrian mall. You could spend hours shopping and eating here! We also had brunch at a cute bakery called The Bunnery. We went back the next morning to get a giant cookie!

The best part of our vacation was the horse carriage ride/tour around the historic-downtown area. We learned so much about the history of the city. I would highly recommend this if any of you ever go to St. Augustine. We were sad the picture didn't turn out.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn. It was a nice hotel and we even had a suite with 2 TV's, 3 beds, a fridge and microwave.

One of the only pictures we got of all 4 of us. Geoff wasn't able to take time off of school so it was just the four of us. We used the GPS system Geoff got for Christmas and loved it! If you don't have one they are well worth the money!
