Kaylee's Special Day!

My cousin Curtis inspired me. He and his wife celebrate their children every month on the same day as their birthday. This way the kids all get one on one time once a month. I thought that was a great idea so we have now started that tradition in our family. The kids LOVE the idea. I took Kaylee to our favorite park in Gainesville for a picnic. She even got to choose what we had for dinner that night. We had tuna fish sandwiches and chips. :) Kaden can't wait for his turn. Thanks for the great idea Curtis!

Ok this picture is total de'javu for me. My grandpa and I used to walk to that very park whenever I came to visit him. My grandparents lived just a few blocks away from there. What a cute idea- it sure looks like Kaylee is enjoying her day.

That is a great idea. So is it just with one parent or both?

Marleen,
We have decided to take turns with the kids each month. This month I took Kaylee so next month Geoff will take her. We will trade off taking turns with Kaden as well.

We've had a lot of fun with our kids by doing this and the kids really look forward to it each month. We do the same thing and alternate who takes which child each month. It's obviously much more fun in the spring, summer, and fall when I can take the kids to the park or to the batting cages or golfing... there's not much to do in the winter with all the doggone snow! My choices are limited to dinner, movies, or bowling. :)

I love your blog... it's great to keep up with you and your kids.

It looks like you guys are really having fun in Florida. You were brave to hunt for Alligators. This is a fun idea for one on one time.
